Travel to Mongolia from Indonesia: Discover the Last Nomadic Culture

Mongolia is one of the world’s few remaining truly nomadic cultures. For thousands of years, pastoral herders have moved across Mongolia with their livestock, adapting to the changing seasons. Many still live in traditional felt Ger tents, relying on their animals for sustenance, and embodying a lifestyle as free as the vast Mongolian steppes.

In today's fast-paced world, Mongolia stands out as one of the last exotic destinations, offering breathtaking natural beauty, rich nomadic culture, and unmatched hospitality preserved over centuries. For those seeking nature and culture, Mongolia is the perfect destination.

Mongolia Weather: Best Time to Visit

Mongolia, known as the “Land of the Eternal Blue Sky,” experiences 257 sunny days each year. The best time to visit Mongolia is during the summer, from early June to early September, when the weather is warm and perfect for exploring Mongolia’s scenic landscapes.

For those who prefer cooler temperatures, late September to October offers stunning autumn scenery. Winter (November to February) brings the chance to experience Mongolia’s famous Ice Festival or the Golden Eagle Festival, though temperatures can drop as low as -30°C.

Useful Tips:

  • Packing: For summer, pack lightweight clothing along with a jacket for cool evenings. In winter, thermal layers and a heavy jacket are essential.

  • Altitude: Certain areas, such as the Altai Mountains, are at high altitudes, so be mindful of altitude sickness if you plan to trek or travel in these regions.
